Redeemer is Evangelical - that means the center of all we do is the Gospel – the good news that Christ became a man, suffered and died for our sins, and rose again from the dead. We are Lutheran - which means we hold to the confessions of the Lutheran Church and proclaim God’s Word in accordance with that confession. We are sacramental, administering baptism, absolution, and communion as Christ instituted them so that people can receive forgiveness, life, and salvation from Him. We are liturgical, believing that an ordered, historic, and faithful service best serves Jesus and His gifts to all who worship with us.
In 1945, our Redeemer congregation was organized with thirteen charter members. We have grown strong over the past 60 years. In 1963, a new church (current location) was dedicated as the congregation grew. In 2000, Redeemer joined with five other LCMS churches to form the Central MN Lutheran School Association. Prince of Peace Lutheran School was created out of Trinity Lutheran School, and Redeemer continues to be a part of the association.
Redeemer is a member congregation of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. As the website for LCMS states, “With the universal Christian Church, The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod teaches and responds to the love of the Triune God: the Father, creator of all that exists; Jesus Christ, the Son, who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise to life again in the ultimate victory over death and Satan; and the Holy Spirit, who creates faith through God's Word and Sacraments. The three persons of the Trinity are coequal and coeternal, one God.” |
